Chelsea star believes he is the best player in the world

One Chelsea star has claimed that he is the best player in the world for his position in what can only be seen as a humongous claim. That player is Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois who has gone from strength to strength over the past five years. The player has been on Chelsea’s books for a while now but joined Atletico Madrid on loan, where he impressed hugely. Courtois became one of the best goalkeepers in Europe during his time in Madrid and Chelsea had a big decision to make. They already had Petr Cech in goal, one of best servants at the club but the hierarchy decided that Courtois would be the number one and bring him home That didn’t go down well with Cech, who was allowed to leave the club to use up the remaining years of his career at Arsenal. That left Courtois to maintain the number one spot at Stamford Bridge and he has gone from strength to strength, keeping six clean sheets this season. Only David De Gea has more during the current campaign but the Belgian believes he is the best goalkeeper in the world. “Yeah, I think obviously I feel like that, you have to have the self-belief that you are the best, that’s important to have that mind-set.” he explained. “Obviously there are other great goalkeepers, so it’s not for me to judge who is the best, but obviously I feel the best because that has to be your mind-set. “I think every great player in the world, and every great goalkeeper in the world will have that mind-set, and it should be like that. I try to work every day very hard to become better and better.” Real Madrid target Chelsea star While Courtois have been linked with Real Madrid in the past, Los Blancos are targeting another Chelsea player. That comes in the form of one of their star players and a January move could be on the cards.
