Beyonce shares first photo of twins
Beyonce has shared the first photo of her twins, after she welcomed them in July with husband Jay Z.
“Sir Carter and Rumi 1 month,” she captioned the image of herself, holding her newborn babies.
The photo is reminiscent of her floral themed photo in which she announced that she was pregnant in February.
But this time, she held the baby unlike the first photo where all she had was her baby bump.
Beyonce’s father, Matthew Knowles broke the news of the birth on the Internet last month.
Knowles shared a message on Twitter that read, “Happy Birthday to the twins! Love, Granddad” alongside the caption ‘They’re here !#beyonce #twins #jayz #happybirthday”.
The superstar couple got married in 2008. The twins addition raises their brood to three, as they are already parents to five-year-old Blue Ivy.

According to Akon's lawyer, Ayo Shonaiya, who brokered the deal, DeeVee has been signed since the beginning of the year after negotiations for most of last year.

The announcement was made now as Akon himself is in Lagos, as work is about to start fully on new material for Akon and other artistes on the Konvick Kartel label.
DeeVee's producing style is very eclectic, from Afrobeats to techno and electronic dance music (EDM). Aside D'banj, he has produced and worked with international acts like Snoop Dogg, Idris Elba, Big Sean and Fally Ipupa.

Flavour’s album release strategy

July 12, 2017 0
Flavour’s album release strategy
First things first. The weirdpart about Flavour’s new album is that many people don’t know he has an album. There are millions of Nigerians who don’t know that the foremost contemporary Highlife artist has a new body of work titled “Ijele The Traveler.”
The project is mostly amazing. It’s his fifth studio project coming, coming through after 2014’s “Thankful”. The new album has been reviewed by Pulse, scoring high marks and revealing a keeping with his ‘Igbo Culture’ exportation. Simply put, it’s beautiful music that deserves to be listened by everyone.
Songs such as ‘Virtuous Woman’ is a lovers delight, and can satisfy all the hopeless romantics that Nigeria possesses in abundance. There’s also the Reggaeton ‘Baby na Yoka’ which has an instantly recognizable sound that would rock any party. For Trap lovers, ‘Body calling’ is your turn-up material.
But all of these might fail to hit the spot on the head due to one thing: A weird roll-out.
We all know how a classic album roll-out is. There’s an industry standard formula to rolling out big projects. It was created over years of tweaking and tuning, to give projects the best possible chance of being distribution, purchase and publicity. It starts with singles coming out, PR events executed, media tours held to promote the album and announce to the public why they should bother with this new project. Then comes the album release, concerts and more singles drawn out of it. There’s also merchandise and promotional souvenirs.
Check out all the major projects released by artists, they obey this rule. Any other variation to this would be a desire to remix it a little. But it works, and that’s why it exists.
But for Flavour, it’s a different set of rules. His release for this project follows an interesting timeline. There was an announcement alright. HipTV stumbled upon Flavour, handed him a microphone, and asked him some questsions, and that’s when he blurted it out.
“My album is coming out in two months, this is the first time I am saying it, you just caught me off guard," Flavour said, speaking to HipTV.
He was caught off-guard, and that’s when he told Nigeria of a very crucial decision.
Flavour. play Flavour.
(Instagram)
That was the only piece of information heard of it until June 26, 2017, a day before the project dropped. The art came out, the album art came out, and the next day we have a new album “Ijele The Traveller.” In 2014, when he dropped “Thankful,” it was almost a similar strategy, only this time, he told the media that he had sold 1 million copies in 5 days.
How neat.
The result of this is that a huge population of people are unaware that there’s a project coming. Neither do they understand the story behind the art, nor why they should interact with it on a personal level. No artist should pour their lives into a project, and not market it to the best of their ability. Especially for a full-length project.
But it’s Flavour. He is an enigma.
Flavour's Ijele album tracklist play Flavour's ''Ijele'' album tracklist
(2niteflavour (Instagram))
Who understands Flavour’s music business strategy in Nigeria? Who would say they have a grasp on the way the artist goes about his work? Who can point to a time when the singer is ripe for an album? Anticipation is not in his dictionary. One moment you are sleeping. The next moment you are awake, and there’s a video of a new song, with Flavour shirtless, and a beautiful video vixen just strolling around the block in panties and bra. White panties and bra.
But nevertheless, he is still a great artist who has achieved abundantly, and has transitioned into being one of a few acts to be both celebrated as a recording and performing artist across the African continent and beyond.
All he needs right now to capitalize on the media and the promotional opportunities that they represent. And everything would flow more smoothly. Ideally, every one should be listening to his new project. But a weird album release is preventing it from getting in the faces of more people.
“Ijele The Traveler” album needs to travel some more.

Game of Thrones, Winter series is finally here

Game of Thrones, Winter series is finally here

"Game of Thrones" returns for its penultimate season Sunday, presaging the end of a saga of sex, violence and political intrigue that has become the world's most popular TV show.

The R-rated fable of noble families vying for control of the Iron Throne has just 13 episodes left, split across two shortened seasons which will bring the curtain down on a ratings juggernaut that made television history.
One of the darkest and most controversial primetime series ever made, it has been the target of criticism over the years for senseless violence and its repeated use of rape as a dramatic device.
The scriptwriters have brutalized women, killed children, depicted graphic sex and had their characters hacked, stabbed, flayed, poisoned, decapitated, burned alive, eye-gouged and eviscerated -- all in glorious, close-up detail.
The adult themes have not deterred fans, however, and the audience has grown in the US to more than 23 million per episode.
"Game of Thrones" has more Emmy Awards than any narrative show in history and airs in 170 countries, with viewership figures shattering records across the world.
Season six was the first to move beyond George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" novels and carve its own path.
Critics said it marked a return to form, with the narrative allowing female characters to demonstrate complexity and moral agency lacking in some of the earlier seasons.
Viewers saw hero Jon Snow (Kit Harington) resurrected and declared King in the North, while Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) staged a coup in King's Landing, murdering most of the royal family and her religious opponent, the High Sparrow.

Brutal killer

Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), raped in a controversial off-book episode in season five by Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon), fed him to his hounds and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) set sail for Westeros.
Showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss last year announced the shortened run of seven and six episodes for the final two seasons and confirmed the summer return for season seven, a departure from the usual April premieres.
The show has been teasing winter's arrival since its pilot episode in 2011, and with the season six finale entitled "The Winds of Winter," the camera crew was forced to wait for colder weather to begin filming season seven.
Few details have been revealed about the new episodes, except that Oscar-winning Jim Broadbent joins the cast and pop sensation Ed Sheeran is to make a cameo appearance.
One theory doing the rounds on social media is that fan favorite Dany may become a villain.
Proponents point out that her father, Mad King Aerys Targaryen, was a brutal killer and that the Mother of Dragons herself appears to be getting colder with each new season.
"I think that would be highly unlikely," Iain Glen, who plays her ally and fellow exile Jorah Mormont, told the Huffington Post, however.
"I mean, this is Iain speaking and Jorah speaking -- we share the same voice -- my belief in her is such that I can't see her going that way myself."

Ruling Westeros

Snow and other major characters are expected to get more screen time during the final episodes despite the shorter seasons, mainly because the minor players keep getting killed off.
"It's a nice change for me this season, he talks more, he's more sure of himself," Harington told Entertainment Weekly (EW) of his character.
"He doesn't just know what he's got to do but he's more sure of what he's saying, whereas before there was always some fear and doubt. I've gotten to enjoy not just grunting."
A 90-second trailer entitled "Long Walk" showed Cersei, Dany and Jon heading towards their respective throne rooms in King's Landing, Dragonstone and Winterfell.
Episode 61, entitled "Dragonstone," premieres on HBO at 9 pm in the US on both coasts, while the network has announced the following two episodes will be called "Stormborn" and "The Queen's Justice."
The biggest question of all -- which will not answered this summer -- remains who will be sitting on the Iron Throne and ruling Westeros when "Game of Thrones" comes to an end.
"I think Sansa should get the Iron Throne, and I think Jon Snow should rule Winterfell," Isaac Hempstead-Wright, who plays Bran Stark, said in a video posted by EW.
Actor Kit Harington -- aka Jon Snow -- and other major "Game of Thrones" characters are expected to get more screen time during the show's final episodes"Sansa should rule the Iron Throne. Arya should rule Winterfell," countered Harington, who said he thought Snow should rejoin the Night's Watch defending the realm against threats from the north.

The 11-minute video features deep conversations about relationships with women and interviews with Chris Rock, Will Smith, Kendrick Lamar, Chris Paul, Jesse Williams, Aziz Ansari, Mahershala Ali and Meek Mill.
"This is my real life. I just ran into this place and we built this big, beautiful mansion of a relationship that wasn’t totally built on the 100 percent truth and it starts cracking. Things start happening that the public can see,” JAY-Z explained about his marriage.
Adding, "Then we had to get to a point of, ‘Okay, tear this down and let’s start from the beginning … It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done," he continued.

The rapper also admitted that fighting for his relationship had been more challenging to go through than his childhood in Marcy Projects and being shot at.
What is happening to my body right now? Did I just say … ‘Don’t leave’? All this is new for me,” he said, recalling a vacation with Beyoncé during which he begged his wife not to leave.
The father of three previously released a video titled “Footnotes for ‘The Story of O.J.’” that focused on the black experience in America.

Producers of ‘The Wedding Party’ may have lost over $1million, says analyst

Producers of ‘The Wedding Party’ may have lost over $1million, says analyst
Film industry analyst and publisher of Nollywood Mirror Series, Mr. Ekenyerengozi Michael Chima, has alluded that the highest grossing Nollywood Box Office movie, “The Wedding Party” may have lost more than US$1million to illegal online streamers.
Ekenyerengozi averred that the said amount is what the producers of the movie “would have made if they also premiered the highly entertaining romantic comedy on the internet before the ‘faster and smarter’ movie pirates did so.”
I have recommended that Nollywood filmmakers can release their movies simultaneously; same time at the cinemas and online. Which Mrs. Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu, the Regional Director of M-Net, West Africa also proposed at Tech- Plus 2015,” he said.
According to film enthusiast, “producers can premiere and screen their movies simultaneously on iROKO TV, Linda Ikeji TV, Bella Naija and Naij TV for Pay Per View at N200 or US$1per view,” adding that “with more than 125 million Nigerians in Nigeria and abroad watching videos online, “The Wedding Party” would have attracted many of them to watch it on OTT platforms streaming videos.”
He opined that online streaming is what has made the Co-founder/CEO of iROKO TV the richest man in Nollywood (until my Screen Naija YouTube goes commercial).
“The producers of the part two of “The Wedding Party” will thank me later when they smile to the bank with a bullion van carrying their millions of dollars,” he quipped.

Mr eazi on a new track

February 10, 2017 0
Mr eazi on a new track
Mr Eazi’s new project “Life Is Eazi, Vol 1 – Lagos to Accra” is out.
The 14-track project which is his first since he exploded in 2016, has all of the influences from Nigeria and Ghana, and is produced by a star array of producers drawn across the cities.
The project which has been made exclusive to Apple Music and iTunes for its first week and features inputs from producers and prominent artistes including Masterkraft, Legendury Beatz, Del B, Maleek Berry, D-tunes, Wizkid, Olamide, Medikal, Mugeez R2beez, E-Kelly and Falz.
The buzz is high, and as people get streaming we can’t but look at the art of rolling out the project. Mr Eazi, for all of his recent troubles, has perfected the art of rolling out the project. Everything he has done up to this point is a calculated sequential process to the big release.

In 2016, as he ascended to the throne as the new breakout star and smashed records, he had already began the project roll out. He had picked the date, and continued to announce it on Twitter Instagram and every other platform. I knew Mr Eazi would have a project in February 2017.
That’s the first step. Mr Eazi never missed an opportunity to explain to each and every one of his fans who came through with questions. He screamed about the project to the high heavens, and never spared a detail. If there was any problem, it was that he talked too much. All for the project.

Then came the next phase. Mr Eazi slowly let out the technical details and minutiae of the project. He slowly announced the identity of the producers who worked on the project, and how many songs they were responsible for. Masterkraft, Medikal, Maleek Berry, Legendury Beatz, Del’B and many others were announced. One per day, until that was done.
In-between he found trouble online with his infamous (or famous) tweet about the influence of Ghana on Nigerian pop sounds. And although, he was bashed, battered and attacked from all corners in Nigeria, he maintained his cool and apologized for all wrongs.
These apologies came in form of interviews, and at every stop, he announced his forthcoming EP. This was another PR win, crafted out of a bad situation.
Words and minutiae aside. Then came the launch of a series of artworks. These artworks came in various colours and captured the essence of every song on the project. There were also promotional fan-made art which flooded everywhere and lingered in our consciousness. Building anticipation, one pixel at a time.
Mr Eazi's mixtape will be a mixture of his Ghanaian and Nigerian influences play
"Accra to Lagos" is expected to be a mixture of his Ghanaian and Nigerian brands of music.
 (Instagram/mreazi )

At this point, his Apple Music affiliation had become strong. Ebro and Julie Adenuga worked up attention for the music and the project. Pushing it in London and the US. Eazi moved to London and began work on recording new music. And on the eve of his release, he had an incisive interview with Julie Adenuga on Beats 1, Apple Music.

 (Beatsbydre.com)

But the Nigerian front did not suffer. BRT buses in Lagos, and billboard spots created advertising investment that highlighted the album and gave calls to everyone to get a piece of Mr Eazi.
Today that project is out, and the music which feels surreal, is being bought and downloaded on Apple Music and iTunes, where it is hosted exclusively for a week. At the expiration of that duration, it will be distributed across every other store.

The roll-out of the project was a series of steps which felt like an art. It was the culmination of a series of meetings and planning designed to give Eazi the perfect roll-out. In doing this, he has created a formula which should be studied and applied in various forms by labels looking to gather enough buzz for a new project.
