The paramount ruler of siembiri Kingdom in delta state, HOW Pete Charles Ayemi has appealed to President Buhari to as a matter of urgency Withdraw the heavy military troops in the niger deltans region.
According to him, the sudden attack of the region at the time when the militants have announced a ceasefire will be counter products.
The pere of siembiri Kingdom in burutu L.G.A of delta state likened the action of the FG to as "shooting oneself on the leg".
He said "sequel to the ceasefire acceptance, a courtesy of Monarchs and the leaders of the niger delta ten days ago by the niger delta avengers and other militants groups, one would have expected president Buhari to announce his dialogue team as he did in early June, 2016 when he declared a ceasefire preceding his medical trip to the UK"
The image Monarch wondered why the president instead of announcing his dialogue team, ordered the mobilisation of troops to the niger delta region under the pretext of military exercise, code-named "operation crocodile smile"
He further stressed that by this action, he is thus sending a negative impact to all Nigerians, the international community and even the whole world that the stage is now set to crush the militants at a time they have accepted a ceasefire. He also added that they have been making frantic and passionate appeals to the international communities calling both the FG and the niger delta avengers to sheathe their swords and embrace dialogue in order to procure a lasting solution to niger delta quagmire, he said..
